About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Garden City South, Rustica Brick Oven Cafe stands out as a vibrant Italian restaurant and pizza haven that artfully combines authentic flavors with a welcoming, casual atmosphere. Known for its exceptional pizza offerings, this eatery crafts each pie in a traditional brick oven, delivering a perfectly crisp crust paired with a generous blanket of fresh mozzarella. Whether you favor the classic Margherita Pizza with its fragrant basil and luscious mozzarella or crave something more indulgent like the Grandma Pizza Rustica, Rustica’s menu promises a flavorful journey that delights both pizza purists and adventurous eaters alike.

The restaurant’s commitment to inclusivity truly shines through its robust gluten-free menu. For guests with dietary restrictions, options like the Gluten Free Sausage Pizza, Gluten Free Chicken Francese with side salad or pasta, and Gluten Free Chicken Parmesean with Penne go beyond expectations, offering carefully prepared dishes without compromising on taste or texture. As shared by delighted diners, the gluten-free dough is a rare find—soft, flavorful, and authentic—proving that everyone can enjoy the luxury of Italian comfort food here.

Rustica’s culinary repertoire extends well beyond pizzas. Their salads are thoughtfully composed, such as the zesty and crisp Caesar Salad and the elegant Insalata Tuscana featuring white cannellini beans and prosciutto di Parma. Seafood enthusiasts will savor entree selections like the tangy, golden-fried Calamari and the delicately baked Shrimp Oreganata, which boasts a bright note of lemon and white wine, finished with a crunchy breadcrumb topping. Each dish is complemented by house-prepared sides such as sautéed broccoli rabe or tender sautéed escarole and beans that bring a fresh, vibrant balance to the plate.

Atmospherically, Rustica Brick Oven Cafe offers a warm and inviting space that perfectly suits intimate dinners and casual gatherings alike. Its proximity to Nassau Boulevard train station and Adelphi University makes it a convenient go-to for locals and visitors craving authentic Italian fare. The attentive and empathetic service, especially appreciated by guests with gluten sensitivities, enhances the overall dining experience—creating a space where everyone feels understood and well-cared-for.

Many patrons praise the restaurant for its reliability and authentic flavor profiles. One frequent visitor describes Rustica as their “go-to place for pizza” whenever in New York, emphasizing the consistent freshness and never-disappointing quality. Others highlight the affordability given the portion sizes and quality, noting the generous use of cheese balanced carefully with just the right amount of sauce—though some mention asking for extra sauce to satisfy personal tastes.

In summary, Rustica Brick Oven Cafe is not just another Italian eatery; it is a culinary refuge where traditional recipes meet thoughtful innovation and heartfelt hospitality. Whether you are stopping by for a hearty slice, a full meal, or a gluten-free feast, expect a genuine taste of Italy served with care and a smile.

Average food. They are light on the sauce on everything I have had here. Always have to ask for extra which comes with additional cost. Pizza is well priced for the area - generous on cheese, and you guessed it, light on sauce.

Whenever I'm in NY, this is my go to place for pizza. Whether you are a Margherita fan (which I am) or love something more, there's something for everyone here. I've been here multiple times and this place never disappoints. I'm also a fan of the Italian rainbow cake. I highly recommend coming here!

We found this hidden gem during our quick visit to Long Island. We had 3 celiacs who always are up for yummy options! We were overwhelmed in the very best way with the delicious gluten free menu! We were assured it was fully safe for us and it was! We shared a GF Calzone, GF Pizza & GF Chicken Parm. The dough they use is so good which can be a rare find for GF dough! The Chicken Parm and Penne Ale Voldka was SO good! We Iive out of state but we’ll definitely be back!

I went to this restaurant last Sunday and had the most amazing experience! The food was delicious. Some of us had gluten allergies. We were able to get the food gluten-free. We are definitely going back and the price was on point. The waiter was beyond polite also understood, gluten allergies because he also has one. Thank you so much for your service your food. I am definitely going back… donna from North Carolina

Nestled on the corner of Nassau Blvd. and Cambridge Avenue in Garden City, Rustic Brick Oven is pushing out more than just a delicious pizza. We enjoyed a crisp fresh Caesar Salad, a Shrimp Caesar salad, traditional style Napolitan pizza and a thin crispy crust pizza with prosciutto. Additionally, two of us enjoyed Veal Parmigian Heros. Everything was delicious. The aroma walking in is amazing, and the outside courtyard is filled with beautiful flowers. Feel like stepping in for a slice of Naples on your plate? This little Bistro packs huge Italian flavors!

Me and my kids are gluten free. It's almost impossible to find good gluten free pizza and most are made from premade frozen crusts. Not the case here. Our Sicilian pizza was great and was a great size. No skimping at all. We also ordered some cannolis, both regular and gluten free and they were also top notch. Definitely a spot to check out.

Went to dinner with some friends. Food was good and service was just as good. Nice spot to go to for a casual night out for dates or a get together. Not over priced at all, we enjoyed our time here and our friends who recommended the place love this place.
